Crazy Time

Our house in Riverton is under contract! It was a hard decision because the offer was lower than what we previously thought the lowest we would go. We just don’t want to get stuck with two house payments and 4 months from now end up having to accept the same amount since the market is still hurting. We feel lucky that we didn’t lose money like a lot of people are doing. My manager moved here from Chicago last October or so and he just now sold his house for about 10% less than what he paid for it. We are selling ours for about 13% more than what we paid for it but we also put a lot of money into repairs, upgrades, etc. We were hoping to recover everything we put into it but it looks like we’ll fall a bit short of that. Live and learn, I guess. It was a good practice house and I think it helped us know what to look for this time.

We are still anxiously waiting for baby to come. Sarah hasn’t had any contractions for about a week. I’m watching Jackson this morning while she gets a tetanus shot. Yesterday she stepped on a nail that was in our carpet in our family room and it went in about a centimeter or so. She hates shots but doesn’t want to risk it.

In other news, my old company contacted me and wants me to do some contract work for them on the side. They would be fine with as little as a few hours/week which will be nice for a little extra cash. I’m thinking of starting a business I can use to bill for this type of stuff. It’s funny because I had the hardest time getting them to give me a raise but now as a contractor they’re willing to pay me about double the rate. I can get used to that.

UPDATE: Urgent care wouldn’t give her the shot because she’s pregnant! She called her OB yesterday to ask if she should get one and they told her to get one within 72 hours. So who do we believe? Supposedly, because she was barefoot and indoor the chances of infection are really low. So now I’m an hour late for work and we had to fork out the co-pay at urgent care for NOTHING! Doctors shouldn’t charge when they end up not doing anything.

Random Stuff

Photoshop
I’ve been messing around with photoshop and watching some tutorials online and thought I would share some work. If you have any photos you would like “touched up” let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I can change hair and eye color, remove blemishes, give you a tan, whiten teeth, etc. Click on the image to see the difference.

Oh Baby

Nesting
Take a look at the ticker above. 16 days to go. Sarah told me she’s ready. Yesterday I came home to the cleanest house ever. She cleaned everything! I don’t know where she got the energy because she has been exhausted lately. Do you think she is “nesting”? So this baby better come before we mess the house up again. Sarah has been having contractions for the past couple weeks and a week ago she was a “1”. She has another checkup tomorrow. I’m betting she’s a 2-3 tomorrow. We are hopeful this baby will come on her own.

Jackson
He really needs to start talking. He gets mad when we don’t know what he wants but we can’t read his mind all the time. He is using a lot of words now.
More = Moo
Blue = Boo
Red = Re
Bob (the builder) = Baa
Ball = Baa
Dad = Da
Mom = Ma
No = No (he knows this one really well)
Yes = Uh huh

He has shown a lot of interest in the toilet so we got him a potty chair so he doesn’t fall in. Even though he sits on the toilet a few times a day he only went potty once. Not an once of which made it in the toilet. His favorite part is getting TP and wiping then flushing it down. It will be really weird if he’s potty trained before he can talk.

New House

We move in Feb 1. This house will be 10x better than our house in Riverton. There’s a pool, an awesome swing set, 5 bedrooms and a real master bath. Oh and a living room. We are excited to get a little more established. The house in Riverton still hasn’t had any offers. We are set to drop the price by the end of the week if there are no offers. Thankfully we still have some breathing room and can drop the price quite a bit before we start losing some of the money we put into it. Let’s hope we don’t have to go that far though.
