40 weeks! She’s gonna blow! We were scheduled for a C-section on the 5th but Sarah decided she wants to go into labor and try VBAC. We rescheduled the C-section for this next Thursday so please pray she goes into labor before then. Tonight or tomorrow would be great. Oh and the picture above isn’t real. I photoshopped it a little for fun. Here is the real one.
In other news… our home in Riverton is no longer under contract. The buyer didn’t qualify for her loan. We’re back on the market and dropping the price yet again. So pray for that too. I just got called to be the 1st counselor in the YM presidency/Varsity Scout leader. I think because I work on video games they think I’ll relate to teenagers very well. We’ve already had two people in the ward tell us they’re huge fans of Stargate and that they’re excited that I’m working on the Stargate Worlds video game. I don’t think I’ve talked much about my new job. My company is working on an online computer game based on a SciFi show called Stargate. There are millions of Stargate fans all over the world who are very excited. I got the job even though I had never seen the show and didn’t play very many video games. I’ll have to tell you more about it later. We’re off to play with cousins at Sarah’s parents.
Not only are we anxiously waiting for baby #2 (Today would be could since it is Leap Year), we are also waiting for an Xbox game I bought for $1 on Ebay. Sounds like a steal of a deal until I tell you shipping was $5! It’s still pretty cheap. Anyway, we don’t play our xbox very often. Sarah told me she loves Tetris so I thought I would get it so she will play.
Jackson loves to play race cars. He knows how to make the car go but doesn’t get that he needs to steer the car and stay on the road. He can also play football because the computer can execute the running plays if you don’t do anything so he pushes the buttons to pick the play and then I tell him to push the green button to hike the ball. I think he has even scored a touchdown. And he loves Dance Dance Revolution but if we actually plug his mat in he continually steps on the button to exit out of the game so it gets frustrating if you want to play with him. So we just unplug his mat and pretend he’s playing.
Our house in Riverton is under contract! It was a hard decision because the offer was lower than what we previously thought the lowest we would go. We just don’t want to get stuck with two house payments and 4 months from now end up having to accept the same amount since the market is still hurting. We feel lucky that we didn’t lose money like a lot of people are doing. My manager moved here from Chicago last October or so and he just now sold his house for about 10% less than what he paid for it. We are selling ours for about 13% more than what we paid for it but we also put a lot of money into repairs, upgrades, etc. We were hoping to recover everything we put into it but it looks like we’ll fall a bit short of that. Live and learn, I guess. It was a good practice house and I think it helped us know what to look for this time.
We are still anxiously waiting for baby to come. Sarah hasn’t had any contractions for about a week. I’m watching Jackson this morning while she gets a tetanus shot. Yesterday she stepped on a nail that was in our carpet in our family room and it went in about a centimeter or so. She hates shots but doesn’t want to risk it.
In other news, my old company contacted me and wants me to do some contract work for them on the side. They would be fine with as little as a few hours/week which will be nice for a little extra cash. I’m thinking of starting a business I can use to bill for this type of stuff. It’s funny because I had the hardest time getting them to give me a raise but now as a contractor they’re willing to pay me about double the rate. I can get used to that.
UPDATE: Urgent care wouldn’t give her the shot because she’s pregnant! She called her OB yesterday to ask if she should get one and they told her to get one within 72 hours. So who do we believe? Supposedly, because she was barefoot and indoor the chances of infection are really low. So now I’m an hour late for work and we had to fork out the co-pay at urgent care for NOTHING! Doctors shouldn’t charge when they end up not doing anything.
Photoshop
I’ve been messing around with photoshop and watching some tutorials online and thought I would share some work. If you have any photos you would like “touched up” let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I can change hair and eye color, remove blemishes, give you a tan, whiten teeth, etc. Click on the image to see the difference.
