This is a record for longest time without a post. I guess I’ve been a little busy. Still loving my job at WiLife. We recently released a new software update and a new website. Things are looking good for our product.

In other news, I will officially become a homeowner tomorrow. We’re closing on a house and have 4-5 weeks to settle in before our baby arrives. We still haven’t decided 100% on a name for the little guy. We like Jackson and can’t come up with the right middle name. Our ideas so far are Paul, Jay, and Chad. Would love to get any suggestions.

A cool site I found the other day can help you determine the value of your house. It’s not entirely accurate but it can give you a pretty good estimate compared to homes in the area, recent sells and tax info. The site is called Zillow.com. I had fun searching out the homes of everyone I know. It is a really good tool if you are home shopping to know whether you’re getting a good price or not.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been quite busy. I work a lot at my cool job and commute over a half hour each way. On top of that we’ve been trying to find a home closer to work. We found a good deal and they just accepted our offer last night. Earlier this week I also got a new car. One car wasn’t cutting it. My pregnant wife was walking to work and stuck at home the rest of the day.

To make it up to you I’ll give you a sneak peak of a video that I’m working on. Since I have access to lots of surveillance cameras for testing I decided to snap a shot of myself once a day and make a movie with all the pictures in order. You can see me gain/lose weight. Watch my hair grow/disappear. I’ve been doing it for a couple weeks now which isn’t very much at all. It’s going to take a few months before I have something worth watching.

The internet has been around for a while now and it amazes me that people still forward chain letters that promise true love, riches, refunds from microsoft or you will have horrible luck for the rest of your life. In case you aren’t sure whether to believe these “FW:FW:FW:Must Read This” emails I have put all of them to the test. I would say I have very good fortune/luck and I can’t recall ever forwarding such an email. I just got an email about Robin Williams’ peace plan and it was interesting to read, I must admit, and I’m not mad that someone sent it to me but after a quick search I found out that the message started circulating 3 years ago and didn’t start out attributed to Robin Williams and, in fact, he never came up with this plan. Somewhere along the line someone put his name on there and who knows how many people have read this message now thinking Robin Williams did this in a comic routine.

Wouldn’t that be something to make up a really funny email, forward it to everyone you know and 3 years from now get it back with a famous person’s name on it. I would want the credit myself. I wonder if there are people out there trying to come up with the next big forwarded email. Their goal in life is to have their messages sent to more people than ever before. Most of these probably are stolen from someone’s website. In fact, someone could copy this post, change it up a little bit and start forwarding it. I just know that 5 years from now I’m going to get an email that looks like something I’ve posted on my blog with George Bush’s name on it.

I started a new job for a startup company called Wilife. I have to say that it is a pretty cool company to be a part of. Their product is a home/small business surveillance system that is inexpensive and really easy to setup. My first task is to learn how to use the product and mess around with it. I’ve just been playing with it all day seeing what it does. You can setup sections of the screen for motion detection and only record when their is motion in a specific region. Right now I have a camera recording me everytime my water bottle moves and another one recording anybody that walks by my office.

The system is really new. It has been 2 weeks since people can purchase the cameras and they’ve sold quite a few with some big orders from Radio Shack and Fry’s coming soon. Check it out here.
