I’m back in the saddle
I’m back! I’ve been working long hours and kept really busy and was no where near a computer over 4th of July weekend. Sorry for those faithful visitors for slacking off. I haven’t had much time to surf the web for strange and fun things. One thought I was having was about poor customer service. I don’t know about you but I’ve had several bad experiences with a few companies lately. Bad products, bad service, slow, you name it. What has this world come to? Everyone is out there for the money and no one cares about doing something just because it is the right thing to do. Just one small example; my wife bought a chess set online for me. It looked really nice and had a good price. She figured she could find something cheaper online. We get the set and the box it came in was all torn up. Not just the shipping box but the chess set box was torn and ugly. The board is a mirror where the white squares are frosted and the black squares are mirrors. The felt on the bottom of the pieces was starting to come of and the glue was sticky from being in the heat. I start to play chess and every time I set a piece on a white square and take it takes some of the frost with it leaving a circle on the square. Then I find that even if I just touch the frost with my finger it comes off. After a year of playing chess, all the white will be gone and It will be a mirror with chess pieces on it. How much money do you think this company saved by using a crappy process?! Just make a quality product and go to sleep knowing you made something good and didn’t scam someone out of $10!!!!! Here’s a list of companies that I feel they or their employees have cheated or mistreated me recently; Toshiba, Kmart, Allen Patch Ford Mazda, Sundevil Auto, Orbitz.com
Google will one day take over the world
If you all are smart you would invest in Google. For a several reasons. One, their stock doesn’t know the word down. Two, they come up with the best of everything. This company knows how to think outside the box. They were late-comers in the search engine business but they are, by far, the best. Now they have an email service that is awesome (if you want an account and need an invitation, let me know). A map service that is so cool. They are getting into the online auction business and I’m sure they will be the best. I’m just waiting for the Google OS that will take over Microsoft Windows. In the mean time you can have fun with this free software they are giving out. It is similar to their map service but funner. You’ll have to download it and see. Let me know what you think.
Brian Regan
Saturday evening I was talking to some of my in-laws and the topic came up about Brian Regan’s jokes. Everyone was doing their impressions of his jokes. My eyes were watering and my side hurt so badly. Last year for Christmas my wife got me his CD and I listened to it in the wee hours of the morning all last semester while I was working on my Computer Science labs. Sarah was in bed asleep and I was in the other room on my computer with my headphones on. I had to close the door so I wouldn’t wake Sarah up with my laughter. He tells jokes mostly about his childhood and being stupid. One of my favorite jokes is about the Spelling Bee in school. He hated the spelling bee. Up until then no one knew he was an idiot. “Alright kids…Up against the wall, it’s time for public humiliation!” He always admired the kid that spelled the word wrong on the first try because he knew he wasn’t going to win. So why stay up there forever. “Cat. K-A-T. I’m outta here. Then as he walked pass you to his seat he’d whisper to you. I know there’s two T’s.” I just ordered his new DVD and can’t wait for it to come. To learn more try either of these links. Official Site or Fan Site
Online TV
If you’re like me you don’t have a ton of time to watch tv. I figure, why bother paying for cable when I would only get to watch it a few times a week. Then sometimes I really want to watch some tv and just relax. Here’s the solution. I recommend Research Channel and BYU Channel. Beeline TV. You need a high-speed connection for it to be very good.
