New Addition

Our family is expanding – in more ways than one. We announced to family this week that we’re expecting our second baby in March 2008! Sarah has been really tired lately and pretty sick as well. She is hanging in there though. It doesn’t make things easier now that Jackson has started having his own opinions is still working on what NO means. He still thinks it means – “Do that again, please.” He’s a cute little boy and very pleasant most of the time but, when he wants to be, he can be a handful.

We also just switched him from the crib to a toddler bed and he has been doing really well. Although he used to sleep in until 8am occasionally but now he wakes up before 6am no matter what time we put him down. I sure hope he grows out of this sleep schedule soon. With all my late nights working on thintopia and bookwormed I’m running low on energy.

Temple Square

This weekend we met up with the Woods and Kings in Salt Lake City and Saturday we visited a few of the sites at temple square. Although we’ve lived in the Salt Lake valley for almost 18 months this was our first trip as a family there. We had fun at the visitor’s center, toured the conference center and had lunch at the Lion House Pantry. After Jackson’s nap we played in the pool at the hotel and had book club where we discussed our reading of Bruce R. McConkie’s biography.

Fight Porn

I was just visiting with family and the topic came up about a non-profit organization called CP80. The group was self-started by Ralph Yarro and they’ve come up with a great solution to help families protect their children from porn. With TV we can choose the channels we want to pay for but the internet is wide open and filters help but are not bullet proof. What CP80 wants to do is create a family friendly internet channel where inappropriate content is forbidden. When you purchase your Internet Service you could choose Open Internet or the Family Friendly channel. Pornography is already regulated online but it is next to impossible to enforce. This method would make enforcing current regulations very easy.

Gas Prices

I was reading through my old posts and back in Aug 2005 I had a post about the outrageous gas prices. $2.55!!! If we were only so lucky now.

$3.19 and it’s only June and we all know prices increase over the summer months. Will I be quoting $4.00 by the end of the year?

It’s time to consider riding my bike to work.
