Families are forever

We’ve had a sweet but very sad event this weekend in our family. Micah’s sister, Emily, had a little baby girl last Thursday evening. Her name is Gianna Rae. Gianna came at about 30 weeks and had several physical disabilities which made her life here short. On Saturday, this sweet little baby passed on. Her immediate family was able to spend a little time holding and loving her before her little spirit went on and they cherished every minute. I never knew that I would feel such a connection with her even though we didn’t meet her and I feel so strongly that she is such an important part of our family. Her life has strengthened my testimony of family and my knowledge that families can be together forever. It is awesome to think that she is with Heavenly Father now and it has been a wonderful opportunity to talk to Jackson about this (even though we’re not sure he totally understands everything we’re saying, I think he gets the idea). Even still, our hearts are aching with her passing. We can only imagine, from the sorrow we have felt, how much deeper it is for her parents. Even with the knowledge we have of our Heavenly Father’s plan, we know its ok to hurt and to mourn the loss of someone passing away. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with them! Micah and I are going to the memorial service for her that will be held on Thursday.

Memorial Day Weekend 2

The weather was crazy last week. Monday and Tuesday were record highs for May. I think we got up to 110 on Tuesday. By Thursday and Friday we were almost to record lows with highs in the 60’s!!!! Plus a good amount of rain. Thursday night we had the missionaries over for dinner and I had ridden my bike to work that day. They called Sarah to see if we could pick them up since it was raining and they didn’t want to ride their bikes. It didn’t seem to be raining much so I started riding home and was going slowly trying not to splash water on myself from the puddles. Halfway home it started to downpour and I was soaked. I decided to just book it home since I was running late. I changed my clothes and picked the missionaries up.

After dinner we put them to work. They helped us put Jackson’s new big boy bed together. We got him a bunk bed (top bunk is stored away for Lacey to use in a couple years). Here is a picture of Jackson doing a rain dance.

Voice for the Children

Some of our family has started a blog to discuss current issues considering how they effect our children and the world they will inherit. Many of these contributors are part of a grass roots campaign, called CP80: legislation to fight internet pornography. Check it out VoiceForTheChildren.Blogspot.com

A Reason to Celebrate

What a huge relief! Our house in Riverton is officially sold, and not a moment too soon. We had a scare this week and we thought we might have to put it back on the market after over a month of being under contract but everything got worked out and we are the proud owners of one less home.
Now I won’t have to ride my bike to work in 115 degree heat this summer!
Stay tuned for pictures from this weekend. G&G Stubz came down for Lacey’s blessing and we got some good photos to post.

I hope everyone enjoyed conference. It was definitely a different tone without President Hinckley but I think we can get used to it. Change is inevitable and thankfully there are plenty of good men in the church to take charge and move the church forward.

I fell asleep during the last session and Sarah told me Elder Ballard said I need to give her a day off but I think she is making that up. I will have to check that one out.

As a safety measure and so we can feel okay sharing personal information here we want to make our blog private. We will invite everyone we have email addresses for but if we don’t have your email address or you’re not sure then please email us at stubblefields+blog@gmail.com We will leave the blog open to everyone for a week to allow everyone to have a chance to email us.

One other item of miscellanea, Since more and more family and friends are blogging I have grown weary of visiting each blog almost daily to check for updates. Especially those of you who never update and I have to see the same post every time I visit. It is convenient to have the list on the side of the blog but still a hassle so I decided to use something called a feed reader and it is amazingly convenient. Here is how it works. There are a lot of readers out there but I chose and recommend google reader because I’m a google guy and you use the same login as blogger, gmail, picasa, etc. So you log into http://www.google.com/reader from there you can add subscriptions by typing in the address of blogs or websites you frequent. I created folders for family, friends, news, fun, lds and such. I subscribed to everyone’s blog and now all I have to do is visit my reader and shows me all unread posts. I can read the post within the reader or visit the actual post. Now that reading blogs is so easy and convenient I decided to subscribe to more blogs. I’m including a screenshot so you can see what I’m talking about. Also, if you start using google feed reader I can add you as a friend and share interesting stuff through the reader.
