Bustin’ Buttons

My clothes have gotten real tight recently and there are a few articles of clothing that won’t go on. I don’t really want to buy all new wardrobe so I’ve been trying figure out what I should do. I came up with a great idea. The only clothes I’m going to buy will be athletic clothing. Jogging suit, running shorts, extra pair of tennis shoes. There’s no real dress code for school or work so I can wear these clothes every day. Then if I lose weight I should still be able to use these clothes. Also, I won’t have an excuse for not going for a jog since I will always be dressed for it. Then if I do run one day I can wear my second pair of tennis shoes the next day and still be ready to run again. It’s a great plan. Right now I only have two pairs of running shorts which makes running more than 2-3 times a week pretty tricky.

On that note, I went for a jog for the first time in about two months. It was pretty sad. I went for a two-mile loop and had to start walking just before I finished the first mile. I’ve been having problems with my knee and it was hurting pretty bad. I ended up walking/jogging most of the rest of the way and near the end my back started to hurt. I can only improve from here. I just wish I had a good knee and I hope I don’t make it worse by running a lot with all this extra weight.

  1. Oh Man – stretch pant wardrobe?? You need to wear pants with a belt on occasion, just for a reality check. Get a brace for the knee, and stretch out before your runs to protect your back. You don’t want to dampen your enthusiasm with an injury. Better to go slow and build up than risk injury.

  2. You gotta admire these looters in Mississipi and Louisiana. These guys are like triathletes. They can run with a TV under one arm and a microwave under the other, then they gotta swim through the flood waters without getting their newly acquired electronics wet. I am sure if they had passable roads, they could fit in some biking too. All this while ducking whizzing bullets. Impressive!!!

  3. you should start off by riding a bicycle and work your way up from there!! DON’T HURT YOURSELF!! I am sure you wife needs you! 🙂
