How Cute

This morning I dropped Jacks and Lacey off at my sister’s house for my doctor’s appointment and she and my sisters surprised me with a gift certificate to get a pedicure! Lori said she could watch my kids if I went from my dr’s appointment to get my nails done. It was a great pedicure with an excellent foot and leg massage, and even compliments on my nice calves ;). The guy kept reminding me, “You’re going to look good when you have that baby!” in his Vietnamese accent. He’s right, they’re beauties! 😀 A big thanks to my sisters!

Yuba City Trip

We visited Micah’s family for Thanksgiving. The kids were great travelers in the car, and although the drive was long, it was really quite nice. While there we had a great Thanksgiving dinner, played a lot with cousins, had a fun after-thanksgiving turkey trot, went to Tristan’s baptism,

Happy Birthday Micah!

For Micah’s  b-day he got a castle cake… we were actually just trying it out on him, because My sister and I are  making one for my nieces b-day, so we wanted to make sure we could do it. Micah had one request though – he didn’t want it to be a “princess” castle. So we made it with chocolate frosting instead of pretty white and pink! We will be using some nicer things for the windows and accessories for the real princess cake, but this was definitely a good run through. Thanks for the two artists who came to help me build this cake (Tim and Robyn).  Needless to say, we have plenty of cake leftover. “There’s some in the refrigerator, there’s more in the garage… the rest is at the Johnsons.” I think Micah had a good birthday… I think you know you’re getting older when you start getting things that you need as your gifts (i.e – money for new shoes, a fan for work, etc) instead of all those fun toys you can think of! Jackson, Lacey and I had a great day celebrating Micah’s b-day. They loved the streamers and sign, and then we got pizza for lunch. We also had lots of visitors come over to play – so it really was a party for us! Happy Birthday Micah!

The last picture is of Jackson and some of the things that he’s done in school. He loves school!

Jackson’s Happy Birthday

So Jackson’s Happy Birthday was more of a birthday week… it started on Tuesday… mama and papa great made his day by calling to sing Happy Birthday a day early! That was one of the best gifts ever – he’s been begging for us to sing to him since Lacey’s birthday! What a smile! The next morning we had decorated a little bit, and gotten his presents ready for him. He was woken up with a Happy Birthday phone call and when he came out of the room Micah showed him his bike and his eyes lit up! He got on and started riding around right away!

Not only was there a cool bike, there was a cake, exactly like he asked for! I was going to make a really fun cake, but when I asked him if he wanted a train or cars cake, he said ” No — a circle brown cake.” Well, I couldn’t hold Jackson off for very long, so about 10:45 we decided he

needed a little taste. A little bit later, Mamama showed up at our house and brought some great presents for him to open!

That night we sang happy birthday and served him some more cake and ice cream. He had another great Happy Birthday call from Grandma and Grandpa and then had a couple small presents to open and overall it was an exciting day!

On Friday I had planned to go to Freestone Park, where they have a little train and a few other rides. We invited his best friend Max and three of his favorites, Lori, Mari, and Becca to come with us! Oh man – it was a blast! We fed the ducks, rode the carousel, rode the train and played hard!

Today we decided to go to the Wildlife World Zoo! It was another great time – but no pictures, we forgot the memory card wasn’t in our camera! We took another little train ride, fed the giraffes, and saw tigers, crocodiles, etc, etc, etc! It was a neat zoo trip and we were glad to have Micah there with us! What a big week! Don’t you think we should all have a birthday week?
